No Student Flu Shots @ SVE: 
Flu shots will not be provided at SVE for the 2016-2017 school year.  Please call your physician to schedule your children's flu shot.  Thank you!

Is your child having vomiting, diarrhea, stomachache or fever (100 degrees or greater)?

If your child is having any of the symptoms below the evening or morning before school, keep them home to recover and not spread illness (per RRPS policy).

  • nausea
  • vomiting
  • diarrhea
  • stomach pain that is not relieved by going to the bathroom, food, water or rest.
  • fever (100 degrees or greater). Students with a fever must stay home until their temperature is below 100 degrees for 24 hours without medication to decrease temperature.

Does your child need medications at school?

Over the counter meds:

  • Medications you can buy at the store without a prescription, for example: ibuprofen, cortisone cream, allergy medication.

  • Parents print and fill out the over the counter medication form (located in files below) and return it to the school nurse with your brand new, unopened medication.

Prescription Medications:

  • These are medications that are prescribed by your child's MD, for example: asthma, epi pen, diastat, ADHD medications.
  • MD must fill out and sign forms every school year. Fax to school nurse at 505-771-0956.
  • Asthma inhalers, epi pens and diastat have specifc forms (see files below).
  • All other prescription medications, use the Prescription Medication Form

Snack & Party Treats: Only Store bought items with labels per RRPS Guidelines

Per Rio Rancho Public Schools life-threatening food allergy management guidelines: Parents are requested to refrain from bringing home-made treats or food items to be shared in class celebrations or parties. Only commercially prepared foods with intact food labels should be provided for celebrations and other school activities in order to avoid unintended ingestion or contact with allergy-triggering ingredients.

Walk & Roll - TBA

All SVE students and their families join us to walk or ride your bike, scooter or skateboard to school.

Walk & Roll Dates: TBA
Where: Meet at the NW corner of Nativitas Rd & Lincoln Rd at 8:15am, and we will walk/roll at 8:20am.
Why: Sandia Vista is promoting the health benefits of walking and riding to school on a safe route.
